DWI Stop In Westchester Leads To Weapon Charge For Driver, Police Say

An early morning traffic stop of an erratic in Westchester led to DWI and weapons charges for a man in possession of an illegal gun and ammo, police said.

Officers from the New Rochelle Police Department stopped New Castle, Pennsylvania resident Haji Jacobs, age 29, at approximately 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Huguenot Street and North Avenue on Saturday, June 26, when he was spotted driving erratically.

Police said that during the subsequent stop, it was determined that Jacobs was allegedly intoxicated, and he was in possession of a .40 Glock handgun magazine on his person. 

A further search of his vehicle led to the seizure of a .40 Glock handgun and two illegally-possessed 15-round magazines.

Jacobs was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, and driving while intoxicated. No return court date was announced by police.
